Prescription Medications

Our clinicians can prescribe medications to treat health needs.

健康 & 健康 stocks some commonly used generic medications for students, 教师, and staff who are seen at 健康 & 健康 to purchase at a minimal cost without submitting claims through their insurance.

Medications and Cost 

For those medications we do not stock, clinicians will write a prescription to be filled at the 达勒姆-Rite-Aid or a pharmacy of your choice.

健康 & 健康 is going cashless. You can pay for your medications with credit/debit card (i.e., 签证, MasterCard or Discover), Cat’s Cache or use your 健康 Spending Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). 

达勒姆 Rite-Aid

If a prescription is filled at Rite-Aid, the easiest way to manage prescription medication is by downloading and using the Rite-Aid app. This app can help with managing prescription refills, provides notification when a prescription is due for a refill or is ready for pickup, and provides an option to set up reminders when to take medications.

Non-Prescription Medications

Beginning July 1, 健康 & 健康 will be offering a variety of non-prescription medications at reduced cost through our Business Office, 113房间.

Please properly dispose of unused prescription and non-prescription medications.

• Remove the label or use a marker to black out any personal health information on the empty container prior to recycling.
• Do not put unused or expired medications down the toilet or the sink.

Drug Take-Back Day

The easiest, safest way to dispose of medications is during Drug Take-Back Day. Drug Take-Back Day is a national program, offered once a semester in April and October, in coordination with UNH Police Department and the DEA. This event offers individuals a safe, free and confidential way to dispose of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. No questions asked!

Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including the home medicine cabinet. By eliminating these unused medications, we can reduce misuse, abuse, and accidental poisoning. But, it’s important to dispose of medications the right way. Do not flush medications down the toilet where they can contaminate groundwater and waterways.

Our radiology staff perform most standard diagnostic x-rays. These images are reviewed by a 健康 & 健康 clinician, as well as a local radiologist.

Our radiology department does not offer CAT scans, ultrasounds, bone scans, 核磁共振成像, mammograms, or fluoroscopy.

We accept x-ray orders from our clinicians, outside clinicians, and the UNH 体育运动 Department.

Outside x-ray orders should include the following information:

• 订单日期
• Patient name and DOB
• Specific x-ray needed
• Diagnosis/reason for test
• Provider's full name, mailing address, telephone number(s), fax number(s)
• 健康 provider's signature on an official radiology requisition or office letterhead

The x-ray films are considered a permanent part of your medical record and remain on file for 10 years. Copies of x-rays may be obtained from the 放射学 Department by request.

Our laboratory services are available to all UNH students, 员工, and dependents of 员工 who are over the age of 18.

Need Lab Work?

• A lab order request from a health care clinicians required for all laboratory procedures.
• Tests may be ordered by a clinician in our facility, or by the patient's referring clinician.

Lab 订单 from Outside 健康 Care Clinicians

All outside lab orders should include the following information:

• Patient's name and date of birth
• Specific test(s) ordered
• Diagnosis/reason for test
• Clinician's full name, mailing address, telephone number(s), fax number(s)
• Clinician's signature

The lab report will be faxed back to the ordering health care clinician and they are responsible for contacting you with the results. In most cases, test results will be available within 24 hours, depending on the test (some tests may take longer).

• In order to have laboratory testing done, a student must first make an appointment.
• If the laboratory order has not been faxed, the student must bring the order to the appointment.
